Dear Brothers,
At Camp Nooteeming, this past weekend, the lodge held it's
second ordeal of the year. Reports from everyone indicate that the event was
a great success despite the scorching hot weather and the high amount of
people in attendance. Altogether there are 85 new Ordeal members, 13 new
Brotherhood members, and 5 new Vigil Honor members. The new Vigil Honor
members are Izak Breslauer, Josh Breslauer, John Altavilla, Tom Raco, and
Mike Kling. Congratulations to all that advanced their membership in the
Order.
The ranger, Mr. Buckner, was very pleased with the work done by
the Order at the camp. Some of the projects included the installation of a
new roof at the Berkshire Lean-tos latrine, clearing of brush along the main
camp road, washing of the administration building, garbage clean up,
remarking of the red trail, the setup of several camp sites, and the
painting/construction of the thematic elements for cub camp this year.
I would like to thank Pieter Fildes, the ordeal master, for all
of his hard work that he put in for the weekend. He was able to prepare and
run an Ordeal with about 150 people in attendance; that is a big
accomplishment. I would also to like to thank the ceremonies team, the cook
staff led by Mrs. Klock (the food was great), the elangomats, and the
trading post. Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Breslauer, Mr and Mrs.
Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Raco, Mr. Medler, Ms. Toland, Mrs. Klock, Jacob Toonkel,
Jacob Pagendarm, Andrew Klock, Tom Raco, Chris Dolan, Brian Wersebe, Robert
Demkowicz, and Shaun Ruocco for helping to make this weekend a success.
The next weekend will be September 19th -21st, 2008 at Camp
Nooteeming. Lets make the next one as much of a success as this one was. See
you at the next event!
Yours in Brotherhood,
Mike Kling
Lodge Chief
